Nanjing Medical University (NMU) founded in 1934 is one of the key universities in Jiangsu Province. It is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the National Health and Family Planning Commission and Jiangsu Provincial Government. The university has two campuses with a land area of 87 hectares. The university has passed the accreditation of clinical medicine by the Ministry of Education and has obtained the longest certification cycle of 8 years. NMU is among top 500 in the “academic ranking of world universities” for the past five years.

NMU has 24 affiliated hospitals and more than 50 teaching hospitals including one teaching hospital in Indonesia. Presently NMU has 212 professors, 303 associate professors. NMU has an excellent research and teaching team including academicians of Chinese Academy of Foreign Academicians of the US National Academy of Medicine and state-level well-known teachers.

In 2007, NMU was approved by the Ministry of Education as the first group of universities from mainland China to enroll international students in MBBS program. NMU MBBS program has successfully passed the accreditation of medical councils or associations of several countries, such as Thailand, India and Mauritius.

International graduates of NMU have got a high passing rate in their home country’s medical licensing examinations. The one-time passing rate for Nepalese students is 83% and Indian students above 50%; according to incomplete statistics, 13 MBBS graduates have passed the Step 1 or Step 2 examinations of USMLE, 3 students passed AMC and 1 student passed PLAB from 2010 to 2017.

Jiangsu University (JSU) was founded in 1902 sharing the same root with Nanjing University, Southeast University, etc. and has developed to be a national comprehensive key university.

There are more than 2,600 universities in Chinese Mainland. According to ESI Ranking, JSU rose from 78 in 2015 to 50 in 2019 in the general ranking among Chinese Mainland’s universities. Sichuan University is an institution that comprises three former national universities: the former Sichuan University, the former Chengdu University of Science and Technology, and the former West China University of Medical Sciences. The history of Sichuan University dates back to the Sichuan Chinese and Western School founded by Lu Chuanlin, Governor of Sichuan in 1896 on the orders of Emperor Guangxu. It is the earliest modern institute of higher education in Southwest China. China Medical University (CMU) was established as China Medical College on June 6, 1958 and transformed itself into China Medical University in 2003. Guangzhou Medical University (GMU), formerly known as Guangzhou Medical College, founded in 1958, is a medical institution which offers a full range of programs at undergraduate and graduate levels. GMU has two main campuses. The Yuexiu campus is located in the downtown center of Guangzhou City, near Liuhua Lake Park and Yuexiu Mountain. The Panyu Campus, is a new 247 acre campus, situated in Panyu District of Guangzhou City near the Pearl River, an ideal place for learning and research.

Petrozavodsk State University is a state funded medical university in Russia for MBBS. It boasts a comprehensive infrastructure, encompassing 10 faculties, 6 educational institutes, 79 departments, 84 laboratories, numerous development and project departments, a scientific library (ranking among the largest in northern European Russia, with an extensive collection exceeding 1,179,042 books).

The university has gorgeous scenery on the campus, dotted with ancient buildings, with a total area of 2.36 million square meters. HMU was established in 1926 and had a long history and tradition. Its predecessor was the Harbin Special Medical College founded by the pioneer of Chinese medicine Dr. Wu Liande. This is one of the first medical schools to implement seven-year medical courses and has been cooperating with Nankai University and Harbin Institute of Technology to teach students in the seven-year medical courses.

Anhui Medical University is a provincial key university jointly built by Anhui Provincial Government, the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the Ministry of Education.

Its predecessor is Private Southeast Medical University founded in Shanghai in 1926. In 1930, it changed the name into Southeast Medical College. At the end of 1949, it moved to Huaiyuan, Anhui Province and became the first higher medical education institution in Anhui Province.

In 1933, Donglu University initiated a specialized associate program in medicine and this has ever since evolved and grown into Kunming Medical University (KMU) of today.

In 1937, the program was expanded and became known as the School of Medicine of Yunnan University, formerly known as Donglu University. In 1956, the School became an independent medical education institution, known as Kunming Medical College ever since.

Zhejiang University (ZJU) is one of China’s top higher education institutions, as well as one of its oldest; its roots can be traced back to 1897 and the founding of the Qiushi Academy.

Located in Hangzhou – one of China’s most picturesque cities – the University is organized across seven faculties and 37 schools. It is home to 3,941 full-time faculty members, including 50 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
